The Maple Hills Rural Community has recently assumed responsibility from the Province for the administration and enforcement of Dangerous or Unsightly Premises services.
Pursuant to the powers vested by the Local Governance Act (SNB 2017, c.18), the Rural Community of Maple Hills may issue by-laws relating to dangerous or unsightly premises, appoint by-law enforcement officers, and determine their mandate. By-law A-09: A By-law of the Local Government of Maple Hills Relating to Dangerous or Unsightly Premises has been in effect since its adoption in 2025.
In 2025, Maple Hills engaged the contractual services of Maritime Enforcement Services Inc. to provide Municipal By-law Enforcement relating to dangerous or unsightly premises. Uniformed officers in marked security vehicles patrol the area to monitor and manage active files.
Maple Hills, in partnership with Maritime Enforcement Services Inc., follows a clear procedure governed by the Local Governance Act, working cooperatively with property owners and occupants to resolve unsafe or unsightly conditions within the municipality.
